Hello Andrey,
Thank you for your mail. With regards to Order 5681031, the Alphard figure
itself is light, but has a very, very large box. Because of this, it
requires a large shipping box. The two figures together weigh appx. 1.3,
and the shippping box for them will actually weigh about 1kg due to the
large size of the Alphard box (360 x 255 x 235mm).
With regards to your last order, actually SAL Parcel does have size limits
on box size. The largest boxes we can use to Russia are (515 x 364 x 297mm)
or (750 x 430 x 150mm) - we are prohibited from using our largest box sizes
by the Russian Post (maximum size varies from country to country). Also,
please note that the larger the box is, generally, the weaker the edge crush
and overall packaging. So even if we were able to use a very large box to
ship your items there is a very, very good chance it would be crushed or
damaged in transit (unless we used an extremely heavy cardboard, which would
add greatly to the weight). In these cases, even without factoring in size
limitations, shipping by smaller boxes is safer and more economical.
Please understand that we do our best to ship your orders as cheaply as
possible, however we would much rather increase the weight by a little bit
and ensure that your orders arrive safely rather than use the cheapest,
lightest shipping materials possible and have your items arrive damaged or
unuseable. That is the reason for the paper packing for our orders - that
way any shocks or damage that the boxes receive in transit (SAL boxes in
particular are not treated gently at all) is absorbed by the paper and not
your items. We have seen many, many cases where packages with inadequate
packaging are completely destroyed in shipping and want to avoid having that
happen if at all possible.
Thank you for your kind understanding. Please let us know if you have any
further questions.
Best regards,
Ricky Wilson
